David Utz

David Utz died at the home of his son, Jacob Utz, near St. Bartholomew’s church, 
West Manheim Twp., about midnight, Tuesday, May 6th.  He had been suffering from 
dropsy for the past seven months.  His age was 77 years, 3 months and 6 days.

The deceased was a widower and after the death of his wife in September, 1909, 
he made his home with his son Emory, near St. Bartholomew’s church, until 
several weeks ago, he was moved to the home of his son, Jacob Utz.  Besides 
these sons he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Phillip Yost, of Baltimore, and 
Mrs. Abdil Fuhrman, of Lancaster; also, one brother, Samuel Utz, of Pennville.

Funeral Friday, May 9th, brief services at the house at 9 a.m., further services 
and interment at St. Bartholomew’s church, Rev. J. H. Hartman, the Reformed 
pastor, officiating.
