All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/york/ _______________________________________________ Elias Utz Elias Utz, of near Shorb’s store, West Manheim township, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, at 3:40 p.m., after two weeks’ illness from dropsy, aged 72 years, 2 months and 23 days. The deceased, who was a native of Maryland, was a well-known farmer, and highly respected in that community. He was a Civil War veteran and a pensioner, having served for an enlistment of nine months in Co. F 166th Pennsylvania Volunteers under the late Capt. Jeremiah Kohler, of this place. The wife of the deceased, who maiden name was Wildasin, died eight years ago, and the following children survive – Mrs. Emory Rabenstine, of McAllister street, Hanover; Mrs. Sarah Reynold, Porters; Mrs. Amelia Stambaugh, York; Miss Eliza Utz, at home; Henry Utz, of Granite Station, Adams county, and George W. Utz, of Paradise township, York county. Two brothers also survive – Urias and Jacob Utz, of Maryland. Funeral Saturday, Aug. 24, services at the house a ? a.m. Interment in Mt.
