R. WEBB, President of the First National Bank of Fawn Grove, died at his home here on Thursday morning July 1, at 4 o'clock, of tuberculosis. He was 57 years 5 months and 4 days old. He had been in declining health for about two years, but only continued to bed about four weeks. He became a member of the M. P. church here early in life and was a zealous church member. He engaged in the undertaking business about 40 years ago and during that time attended 2400 funeral an average of 60 a year. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, and Knights of Pythias Lodges. Surviving him are his widow, who was Miss Jessie McElwain of Lancaster county, four daughters and three sons, Mrs. S. J. Wiley of New Park, Mrs. W. E. Manifold of Fawn Grove, Mrs. Robert T. Strachan Wallace Idaho and Miss Helen Webb, at home; James M. Webb Nine Points, Lancaster county, Howard and Walton Webb at home; he leaves 4 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. H. S. Merryman of this place and Mrs. E. J. Blain, of Delta. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon. Services in the M. P. church, the officiating ministers were, T. R. Woodford, Rev. S. B. Treadway, of Susquehanna, and Rev. Thos. G. Baxter of Pine Grove church. Mr. Webb leaves a large circle of relatives and friends. He was at the head of the building of the M. P. church, bank, hall and restaurant all in this borough. The funeral was the largest ever held in this place, many attending from a distance. The Masons attended in a body. The pallbearers were Clay McElwain, A. W. Webb, Dr. Vallie Hawkins, Joseph Channell, N. A. Manifold and H. T. Brown. The floral tributes were very beautiful.
