Charles Weiser

Charles Smyser Weiser, who was prominent in the development of York city, died at his home, 
Bloomingdale, Springetsbury township, Wednesday, Sept. 8, aged 71 years.  Death was caused by 
uremia.

He was a member of the Home Mission Board of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the United 
States, a trustee of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, treasurer of the York 
Water Company, a director of the York County National Bank and various other corporations.

Mr. Weiser was in the banking business more than a score of years and was acting postmaster of 
York in 1891.  He is survived by a widow and one adopted daughter.
