All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/york/ _______________________________________________ Mrs. Mary Weiser Killed in Crash One woman was killed and two were seriously injured Wednesday night at 9:12 o'clock, when the Air Line Limited of the Pennsylvania Railroad company struck an automobile owned by Mrs. Emma Tresselt, of York, at the Main street crossing at Glen Rock. The women members of the degree team of Nittannis council, Degree of Pocahontas, were returning from Glen Rock, where they had installed officers. The dead: Mrs. Mary Weiser, 60 years old, York, who had a broken neck, left leg cut off, a hole in the frontal bone of the skull and bruises about the body, was instantly killed. The injured in the York hospital: Mrs. Emma Tresselt, 58 years old, a deep laceration on the right side of the scalp, possible fractures of ribs on the right side of the body and bruises about the body. Mrs. Howard (Lillie) Klinedinst, 52 years old, York, suffering from a fracture of the right clavical and bruises of the body. Dragged 1,120 Feet Mrs. Tresselt, driving a Willys-Knight sedan, stopped at the Main street crossing to allow a Baltimore bound train to pass the crossing. The danger signals at the crossing were flickering, warning of danger. As the last coach on the Baltimore bound train, No. 974, passed the crossing, Mrs. Tresselt is said by witnesses to have started to drive over the crossing, with the signals still flashing red to warn of the train approaching in the opposite direction. The Tresselt auto was carried a distance of 1,120 feet before the engineer was able to bring it to a stop. All of the occupants of the car were pinned inside the wreckage and had to be extricated from the completely demolished car. News Comet, East Berlin, PA, October 17, 1930
