On Wednesday William Wilson, of Lower Chanceford twp., York county, while attempting to walk over the breast of the dam at Stokes' saw mill fell over the dam, a distance of about 30 feet, striking on a stick of square timber which stuck out about four feet from the bottom of the dam, breaking his left thigh in two places and also bruising his side. He then fell into the water on his face and was drowned. Deceased was 67 years old and leaves a wife and six grown children. New Oxford Item, New Oxford, PA, October 18, 1889
