"B" Capt. Luthers Unattached Pennsylvania Drafted Militia. Personally came before me, a Justice of the Peace , in and for the aforesaid County and State Dr. H. F. Gross , a citizen of Nr. [North] York Borough whose Post-Office address is 1034 N. George St. York, Pa. well known to me to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who, being duly sworn, declares in relation to the aforesaid case as follows: That he is a Practicing Physician, and that he has been acquainted with said soldier for about 10 years, and that "I have been his regular physician since March 1903 - During time that I attended him he was in feeble health, complaining severely of pains through joints presumably rheumatic - He had been unable to walk more than a square ever since I attended him. He also had marked arterial sclerosis. He died on Jan 31st '05, from Senility and Endocarditis sclerotic." On back: Signed "Dr. H. F.
