Handwritten “1936” on announcement


Stewartstown, Sept 10 – A quiet wedding was solemnized at 7 o’clock Wednesday 
morning at the Presbyterian manse, North Main street, when Miss Doris Elizabeth 
FISHEL daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. J. Archie FISHEL, New Freedom, R. D. 2, became 
the bride of Austin Harold ANDERSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Spencer ANDERSON, 
Stewartstown R. D. 2. The ceremony was performed by the bride’s pastor, Rev. 
Tolbert D. HEWLETT, using the ring ceremony. The bride was attired in a navy 
blue Tunic style dress with white accessories to match and the bridegroom wore a 
navy blue suit with white slippers. The only attendants were Mrs. and Mrs. J. 
Evans ANDERSON, brother and sister-in-law of the bridegroom. Immediately after 
the wedding, the bridal party, accompanied by Miss Hilda ANDERSON, left on a 
tour to points of the middle west. The bride is a graduate of the Stewartstown 
High school class of 1932.
