GITT AND MISS ELIZABETH GLATFELTER MOUL. The Venerable Rev. Dr. A. B. Koplin, Grandfather of the Groom Officiates Reception Follows After Which They Leave on a Wedding Trip. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Moul, No. 304 Abbottstown street, was the scene of an impressive wedding ceremony Thursday evening at 6:30 o’clock, when their elder daughter, Miss Elizabeth Glatfelter Moul, was united in marriage to Josiah William Gitt, Esq., only son of Mrs. Emma K. Gitt, of High street, this place. The ring ceremony of the Reformed church was followed, the officiating minister being the venerable Rev. Dr. A. B. Koplin, of Hellertown, Pa., grandfather of the groom. The bride was given in marriage by her father. The ceremony was performed beneath an arch of American Beauty and Rambler roses, which the bridal party approached while an orchestra played the Bridal Chorus from Lohedgrin. The bridal party was composed of Miss Ether B. Moul, sister of the bride, as maid of honor; Miss Eleanor De Graffe, Plainfield, N. J., and Miss Josephine Turnbull, Brooklyn, N. Y., bridesmaids; Capt. Henry A. Beninger, Allentown, best man; Edmund C. Wingert, Esq., Chambersburg, and W. Wilson Heinitsh, Lancaster, ushers. A reception followed the ceremony, during which the orchestra furnished music. The bride wore a gown of white charmeuse, with drapery of rose point Lace, and veil of point lace, and Dutch cap, faced with a wreath of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of valley lilies and orchids. The maid of honor wore pleated maize over yellow chiffon and carried a basket of yellow roses and daisies. The bridesmaids were attired in bordered tulle over pink charmeuse, with Dutch caps of point d’esprit, and carried shower bouquets of sweet peas. The house was profusely decorated with greens and flowers, placed by Florist F. E. Cremer. Mr. and Mrs. Gitt left immediately after the reception in an auto for “parts unknown.” They will reside upon their return, at the Moul homestead, No. 216 Abbottstown street, which is being remodeled and made ready for their occupancy. The groom is a son of the late Clinton J. Gitt, a former postmaster of Hanover. He is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, Lancaster, after which he took up the study of law and is one of the younger members of the York county bar. The bride is a granddaughter of the late P. H. Glatfelter, of Spring Grove. She is a graduate of Dana Hall, Wesley, Mass. The Hanover Herald – Saturday, June 21, 1913
