D. 1861. Which took place at her House in Emigsville in the presence of herself and husband, the latter now residing in Emigsville and that she the said Ellen Roland is a subscribing witness to the marriage certificate." Personally appeared before me a Justice in & for the County aforesaid Daniel Roland of the Borough of Emigsville, who after being duly sworn according to law deposeth & saith that he was personally present at the marriage of Lamanda Busey, to Charles [squeezed in "H"] Busey, late pensioner of the United States under certificate No. 161108 [underlined; maybe filled in later] on the 18th day of August A. D. 1861. That said marriage took place at his own house and that he is a subscribing witness on the certificate of marriage which ceremony was performed by [squeezed in "Rev. "] J. B. Jones." Sworn & subscribed to before me this 4th April A. D. 1888 Daniel Roland Geo. E. Sherwood J.P. * On a separate sheet of paper: "York County SS. Personally appeared before me a Justice in and for the County aforesaid Lamanda Busey, widow of Charles H. Busey, dec., late pensioner of the United States under certificate No. 161108 [line through and numbers in different ink; may have been filled in later] who after being duly sworn according to law deposeth & saith that she was married to Charles H. Busey on the 18th day of August A. D. 1861 at Emigsville by Rev. J. B. Jones, whose present whereabouts is unknown to her, and that Daniel Roland and Ellen Roland were present when the ceremony was performed and that both of them subscribed as witnesses to the marriage certificate." Act June 27, 1890.", stamped "Pension office, Jun 30, 1891", and signed by Lamanda E. Busey (underscores indicate filled-in blanks in a preprinted form): "...that she was married under the name of _Lamanda E. Ehrman_ (Name before marriage to said soldier) to said _Charles H Busey_ (Name of soldier) on the _18th_ day of _August_ A. D. 18_61_, by _Rev. J. B. Jones_ (Name of clergyman or other person officiating) at _Emigsvile Pa._ , there being no legal barrier to such marriage..." Confirmation source The Histories of the Pennsylvania and Central Pennsylvania Conferences of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, by Charles R. Miller and William L. Raker, 1968: While the United Brethren Church in Emigsville was not built until 1871, the area appears to have been served out of Dover, York, and Manchester. In 1861, Jeremiah B. Jones was serving the Liverpool (Manchester) Circuit.
