Schmidt, 510 York Street, at 7 o'clock last evening, when her youngest daughter, Miss Alice Anne Schmidt, was united in marriage to John Briscoe Miller. The ceremony was performed by Rev. M. J. Roth, pastor of Trinity Reformed Church, and was witnessed only by the immediate relatives and intimate friends of the couple. Miss Sallie H. Miller, of Shepherdstown, W. Va., a sister of the groom, was bridesmaid, and David G. Schmidt, a brother of the bride was groomsman. A reception was tendered the happy couple, at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. Frank S. Bechtel, 237 York Street, which lasted from 8 until 10:30 o'clock. Refreshments were served. The bride received a number of beautiful and valuable presents, consisting of silverware, fine china, cut glass and useful articles of furniture. Mr. Miller is a native of Shepherdstown, W. Va., and for a number of years was a hotel clerk, coming to this place several years ago, from Hagerstown, where he was employed at the Hotel Hamilton. He was chief clerk at the Hotel Barker, until the hotel changed hands a few months ago. He is now clerk in the law office of C. J. Delone, Esq. Mr. Miller is a member of the local lodge of Elks and a popular young man who has made many friends during his residence here. Evening Herald, Hanover, York County, PA, November 4, 1903
