L. STRAYER, of Clear Springs, announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Hilda STRAYER, to Kenneth WAUGHTEL, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. WAUGHTEL, of Red Lion. The engagement was announced at a valentine party at the Strayer home, Saturday evening. Miss STRAYER is a graduate of Dillsburg high school and the state teachers' college at Shippensburg. She is now teaching in the public schools in Franklin township. Mr. WAUGHTEL is a graduate of Red Lion high school and Lebanon Valley college. He is now employed as a bookkeeper by a York candy manufacturing concern. The wedding is to take place about Easter. Miss STRAYER is a sister of Miss Vivian STRAYER, proprietress of a Chambersburg street beauty parlor. George N. Young in the Lutheran parsonage, Dillsburg. There were no attendants. Mrs. WAUGHTEL has been teaching school in York County. She is a sister of Miss Vivian STRAYER, of Gettysburg. After a wedding trip the couple will reside in New York city, where Mr. WAUGHTEL has enrolled in the American Academy of Embalming and Mortuary research.
