Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Lynn Allison/Mike&Lynn[belmardr@blazenet.net] [York County Register of Wills, Book 3-H, Page 180] LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF CHARLES ALLISON I Charles Allison of Shrewsbury Township, York County, Pennsylvania, being of sound disposing mind and memory, considering the uncertainty of life, and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs while I have strength and capacity do make this, my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me theretofore made. First I direct that my body be decently interred in the Union Cemetery in Glen Rock, according to the rites and ceremonies of the United Evangelical church, and that my funeral be conducted in a manner corresponding, with my estate and situation in life, I further direct that a suitable toombstone be secured and placed over my grave. I bequeath unto my beloved wife Susan Allison all my wearing apparel to be disposed of in such manner as she may see fit. I also bequeath to her, such articles of my household goods and furniture, and such consumable supplies as may be on hand at the time of my death, as she may choose to retain for her use; I also bequeath her the sum of two thousand dollars wit interest from the time of my death, this legacy to have preference over any and all other general legacies hereby bequeathed. I bequeath the residue of my estate, one third to my beloved wife Susan, balance share and share alike to all my children at this date living. I direct that the two lots adjoining property now owned by my beloved wife to remain as part of that property for her use, until after her death, Providing that she should dispose of her property then, and in that case, the lots shall be sold. I direct that certain lot of woodland now being and lying in Springfield township after my death be sold and the proceeds thereof be divided to my beloved wife and children as herein directed. I appoint my son Malton [sic] Allison as trustee of my daughter Rosa to have and to hold her share in trust to place same or invest with good and approved security. And to pay the interest thereof semi-annually, and in case my daughter Rosa buys property, then in that case I direct that the money shall be used for such purpose as first money, without interest and after her death it is to go to her children. I further direct that my son Frank, share be placed in the Glen Rock National Bank in the name of Maggie Allison his wife, for her only to receive the interest on that money until she sees fit to buy property. I then direct the national Bank of Glen Rock to pay that as first money on the property, for her to hold, in case of her death same shall go to my son Frank's children. I further direct that my daughter Sadie share shall be placed in the Glen Rock National Bank in the name of Sadie Boyd, for her only to receive interest of that money until she sees fit to buy property I then direct the Glen Rock National Bank to pay that as first money on the property for her to hold in case of her death same shall go to my daughter Sadie children. I bequeath Fifty dollars in money to my grandchild Charles Allison, son of my daughter Sophrona. I also bequeath Fifty dollars in money to my grandchild Donald Sweeney son of my daughter Sophrona. I direct that all advancements of money or property made by me in my life time to any of my children, and charged or noted by me thereon, or on my book of accounts or notes as such advancements shall be taken and considered as part of the share of such child in my estate under this will, and shall be accounted for accordingly. If any of said children herein mentioned be dissatisfied with this my last wish and will they shall be deprived of any and all benefits of this my will. And lastly I hereby constitute and appoint my said wife Susan, and my sons Stephen and James to be Executrix and Executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this seventeenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.
