Last Will and Testament of Emanuel Bollinger, 1872 By the Divine Mercy and Gracious Providence of the Lord and in the name of God, Amen. I Emanuel Bollinger of Jackson Township in the county of York and State of Pennsylvania Yeoman being sick and weak in body and of sound mind, memory and understanding but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life I do make ordain and publish this instrument of writing to be my last will and Testament in manner and form following to wit: First it is my will and I do order that all my just debts funeral expenses and all other lawful charges be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my decease out of my personal estate. Item: I do give and bequeath unto my dear wife Sarah Bollinger for and during her life of widowhood the use and occupation of my real estate situate in Jackson Township York County aforesaid with the appurtinances (sic) there unto belonging adjoining lands of Samuel Emig, Daniel Klinedinst, and Daniel Neff (?) and others containing eight acres and eighty perches and to receive the proceeds and income of the same as long as she remain my widow if she is willing to keep and continue housekeeping she making no waste thereon she shall work the land in the manner it had usually been and keep the building and fences in repair she maintain bringing up my minor children thereout, and further I do give and bequeath unto my said wife Sarah Bollinger all my personal property to hold the same without giving security for the same for and during her life of widowhood or as long as she is willing to continue housekeeping and in case of my said wifes marriage decease or she become tired of housekeeping in any of said evants (sic) taking place then I direct and empower my executors or the survivor of them to make sale of my real and personal estate aforsaid either the real estate by public outcry or at private sale but always to the best advantage and their descretion at a convenient time or times after said evant (sic) taking place and to make good and sufficient title to the purchaser of my real estate / Item my will is that my said wife shall give during her time of housekeeping as aforsaid unto each of my four daughters namely Sarah Bollinger, Anna Bollinger, Allaballo Bollinger and Martha Bollinger so much marriage dues when they go from home as much as my two other daughters Mary and Catharine received in marriage dues of me when they whent (sic) from home and beginning (sic) housekeeping for themselves - Item. My will is that my said wife shall give during her time of housekeeping as aforsaid unto each of my two sons, Farres Bollinger and George Bollinger so much marriage dues in value part in goods and part in money as my said daughters received of me and of my said wife when them (sic) two sons attain the age of twenty one years: - And in case of my said wife Sarah her marriage or decease as to such wordly estate as I may be then posessed of of whatsoever nature or kind the same may be I direct that the same shall be sold by my executors hereinafter named or the survivor of them and the proceeds thereof I dispose of in the following manner - viz. Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary intermarried with Henry W. Bowman the equal one eight part Part of the proceeds of my estate as aforsaid - Item - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Catharine intermarried with Henry G. Bowman the equal one eight part of the proceeds of my estate as aforsaid - Item - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Bollinger the equal one eight part of the proceeds of my estate as aforsaid. Item - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Anna Bollinger the equal one eight part of the proceeds of my estate as aforsaid - Item - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Allaballe Bollinger the equal one eight part of the proceeds of my estate as aforsaid - Item - I give and bequeath unto my son Farres Bollinger the equal one eight part of the proceeds of my estate as aforsaid - Item - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Martha Bollinger the equal one eight part of the proceeds of my estate aforsaid - Item - I give and bequeath unto my son George Bollinger the equal one eight part of the proceeds of my estate as aforesaid And lastly I nominate Constitute and appoint my said wife Sarah Bollinger and my son in law Henry W. Bowman to be the executors of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all other Wills Legacies and Bequests by me heretofore made, and declaring this and no other to be my last Will and Testament - In Witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the twenty-first day of May in the Year of our Lord one Thousand and eight hundred and Seventy two. And in the fifty seventh year of my natural age - Signed sealed and declared by the said Emanuel Bollinger, as his last Will and Testment in the presence of us who in his presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other and at his request have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto Jacob Wiest D. Leese York County S.S. Before me John Giesy Register of the Probate of Wills and of Granting of Letters of Administration, in and for the County of York, personally appeared Jacob Wiest and D. Leese the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Will, who upon being duly qualified according to law do depose and say that they were personally present and saw and heared (sic) Emanuel Bollinger of Jackson Twp York County PA the testator sign, seal, publish pronounce and declare the ???? foregoing instrument of writing as and for his last Will and Testament, and the time of his so doing he the testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief, and that they witnessed the same at the request of the tesator and in the presence of each other at the same time. Sworn and subscribed to before me this 2nd day of December A.D. 1872 John Giesy Register Jacob Wiest D. Leese Memorandum That Letters Testamenty in the foregoing Will of Emanuel Bollinger deceased were granted to Sarah Bollinger and Henry W. Bowman of Heidleberg Twp the Executors named in the said Will after being duly qualified according to law on the 2nd day of December A.D. 1872.
