In the name of God amen. I Peter Bush of Hopewell Township in the County of York and state of Pennsylvania being weak and feeble in health but of sound mind, memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament. As to such worldy estate as God has entrusted me with I will and direct that as soon after my decease as convenient my executor hereinafter named shall pay all my just debts and funeral expenses. I will and bequeath to my wife Mary one third of all my personal property in cash notes and bonds to be paid to her by my Executor within one year from my decease. I also give to her the use, improvement and increase of my farm and dwelling with appurtenances including the household and kitchen furniture with the farm implements and livestock and during the time of her natural life. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Barbara Ann Kohler, the sum of five hundred dollars which she has already received as purchase money in the property she now owns and which sum is not included in any obligations given for the same by her. I give and bequeath to my daughter-in-law, Catherine Bush, the sum of $200.00. I give and bequeath to my grandson, Elwin Bush, son of Rudolph, the sum of $100.00. All the rest and residue of my Estate real, personal and mixed I give, devise and bequeath to be equally divided between my following named children and grandchildren each to receive share and share alike. To my son, Henry Bush, one share. To my daughter, Catherine Barclay, one share. To my son, Isaiah Bush, one share. To my granddaughter, Elwina Barclay (daughter of my daughter Hannah, dec.) one share. To my son, Philip Bush, one share. To my grandaughter, Isabel Bush, one share (daughter of my son Davis). To my daughter, Elwina Hedrich, one share and to my son, Peter Alfred, one share, provided that from the aforesaid legacies to my sons, Philip Bush and Peter Alfred Bush, their share be deducted the sum of four hundred dollars (the amount of a note due to me from them with the interest accrued thereof). An equal portion of amount said note to be deducted from each of the said legacies of Philip and Peter Alfred respectively. And lastly I nominate and appoint my son, Isaiah Bush, to be the Executor of (the words are unreadable. It looks like there are about 6 more words.) In testimony whereof I have to this my last will and testament subscribed my and affixed my seal this 27th day of April AD 18 (either 49 or 79 - it's hard to read it. Probably 79) Signed, sealed and published by the said Peter Bush as his last will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as Witnesses thereto. James Helton Jacob Althouse State of Pennsylvania, York County Before me Henry W. Bowman, Register for the Probate of Wills and for Granting Letters Testamentary and of Administration in and for the County of York, personally appeared James Helton and Jacob Althouse, the subscribing witnesses to the aforegoing Will, who upon being duly qualified according to law, do depose and say that they were personally present and saw and heard Peter Bush late, of Hopewell Township, York County, Pennsylvania, deseased, the testator, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the within and aforesaid instrument of writing as and for his last will and Testament, and at the time of his so doing the testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief and that they witnessed the same at the request of the testator and in the presence of each other at the same time. Bowman, Register for the Estate of Wills and for Granting Letters Testamentary and of Administration, in and for the County of York personally appeared Jacob Althouse one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Will, who upon being duly qualified according to law do depose and say that they were personally present together with James Helton and saw and heard Peter Bush late of Hopewell Township, York County, Pennsylvania, deceased, the testator sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the within and foregoing instrument of writing as and for his last Will and Testament and at the time of his so doing, he the testator publish, pronounce and declare the within and foregoing instrument of writing as and for his last will and testament and at the time of his so doing he the testator was of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of his knowledge and belief and that he witnessed the same at the request of the testator and in the presence of James Helton at the same time. Bowman, Register Memorandum Peter Bush the said decedent, died on the 12 day of February AD 1885 at or about the hour of 5 o'clock (I think this word is an abbreviation but I can't read it) of said day as per affidavit of death in Book No 3, page 339, filed on the 11 day of March AD 1885.
