In the Name of God amen--- this fifth Day of Sept in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and Seven I Martha Finley of Chanceford Township York County and Common Wealth of Pennla being Sick and low of body but of Sound Dispossing Mind and Memory blessed be God for his mercies and Calling to mind the Mortality of my body that it is appointed for all the Human Race to Die do make and Ordain this to be My last Will and Testament in Manner and form Following and first I Recommend my Soul to god Who gave it and my body I Recommend to the Dust from Whence it Was taken to be buried in Decent and Christian like Manner at the Discreation of my Extr and as to my Worldly Estate Wherewith it has been pleasd god to bless me I Give Devise and Dispose of the same in Manner following After paying all my just Debts and funeral Expenses Imprims I Give and bequeath unto my Well Beloved Newhew James Wells my Real Estate in Land Situate in the Township and County afforsd as also my three Blacks Dina, Joe, and Millie Molatoes also I bequeath to my Neice Betty Donnon fifty pounds to be paid out of my personal Estate as Soon as it Can be Conveniently Collected by my Exter I bequeath to my Neice Nancy Chamberline fifty pounds to be paid in like manner I also Bequeath to my Grand Daughter Polly Laird my Looking Glass Window Curtains and Bread Server I likewise bequeath to My grandson Jos Findly Laird the sum of Ten pounds and if my Extor finds that there will be an Overpluss after Discharging the before Mentioned Legacys out of my personal Estate the Said Remainder to be Equally Divided amongst the afforsd Legatees and I do hereby Make and Ordain my trust friend I.L. Wells Extor of this my last Will and testament Duely Executed and do Hereby Revoke Disanul and make Void all former Wills made by me Confirming this to be my last Will and Testament in Witness Whereof I have Hereunto set my hand and Seal the Day and Year above Written Signed and acknowledgd before Alex Downing Martha x Finley (seal) Cornelius Dysart York County, vs. Before me Jacob Barritz Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the County of York in the State of Pennsylvania, Personally came Alexander Downing and Cornelius Dysart the two subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Instrument of Writing and on their Solemn oaths, (taken with an uplifted hand) they respectively conscientiously ?? the taking of an Oath in common form of law, Do severally say that they were Personally present and saw and heard the foregoing named Martha Finley make her mark unto and Seal & publish the foregoing Instrument of Writing as & for her Last Will and Testament, and what at the time of the doing thereof, she the said Martha Finley was of a Sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief: and, that they subscribed their names thereto as witnesses in the presence of the said Testatrix and at her request, and in the presence of each there at the same time.
