This eleventh day of January in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty five, I Michael Homan of Shrewsbury Township in York County and province of Pennsylvania being sick of body and of good and sound memory give thanks be to god for it and calling to remember since the uncertain estate of this life and that all flesh must yield to death when it shall please god to call do make constitute and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following revoking and anulling by these presents all and every testament and testaments will and wills heretofore made by me and declared either by word or writing am this to be taken for my last will and testament and none other and for settling my temporal estate as it hath pleased god to bestow upon me. I do order and disprove the same in manner and form following that is to say first I ordain Michael Clienfelter and Elisabeth Homan my wife executors of my estate. 2ndly I give and bequeath unto my wife Elisabeth Homan her own bed and a cow 3dly that after my death that praisment shall be made of my moveable estate and 4thly that my eldest son Godleap Homan shall have the plantation with all the land belonging to it and the price of one hundred pound current money and if he should dye before he comes of age hat my second son Michael Homan shall have of land the same rate and if he should dy that my son John Homan shall have the land at the same rate and the price of the land to be equally divided amongst all my children only the eldest son shall have 20 shillings over his equal part and no more beside and equal part and that my wife shall live on the land and have the privilege of all the moveables so long as she remains single but if she marries all the movables to be sold and the money to be carefully put out to interest and to be equally divided among the children as they come of age after my wife Elisabeth Homan having her third part out and that my wife Elisabeth Homan give all the children learning before they come of the age of fourteen and that when the eldest son comes of age he shall sell all the moveables at vendue and give his mother a third part and the rest divided equally amongst all the children and that the eldest son shall give his mother if she remains single ten bushels of wheat and four bushels of ry and one hundred pounds of pork and a quarter of an aker of flax and a bushel of salt yearly and maintain a cow for her and I chose John Clinefelter to be guardian for my children and this I Michael Homan do acknoledg to be my last will and testament wherewith I am satisfied and I Elisabeth Homan and also satisfied as witness our hands and seals this day and year above written. SIGNED: Michael HOMAN (original signature) WITNESSES: Frederick FISHEL Peter SMITH Martin (his X mark ) MI---R (MILLER) ---------- York County Ss Before me Samuel Johnston Esquire Deputy Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the county of York in the Province of Pennsylvania personally appeared Frederick FISHEL and Peter SMITH two of the Subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing Instrument of Writing and on their Solemn Oaths respectively taken on the Holy Evangetests of Almighty God Doth Dispose and Say That they were personally present and saw and heard the said Michael HOMAN in the said Instrument of Writing Name, Sign, Seal, Publish and Declare the said Instrument of Writing as and for his last Will and Testament and that the said Michael HOMAN at the Time of the doing thereof was of sound and Disposing Mind and Memory to the best of these Deponants Knowledge and belief ant that the said Frederick FISHEL and Peter SMITH Subscribed their Names thereunto and then Deponants also saw Martin MILLER make his Mark to the same as Witnesses thereto in the presence of the said Testator and at his request.
