Will of JOHN  KERR  Jan. 1759

In the Name of God Amen, the Twenty Third day of January in the year of
our Lord God One Thousand Seven Hundred and fifty nine, I John KERR of
Hamiltons-Bann Township in the County of York and Province of
Pennsylvania being very sick but of perfect mind and memory Thanks be
given to God ~ and calling to mind the mortality of my body and know that
it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my Last
Will and Testament and first of all I commend my soul into the hands of
God that gave it and my body I commend to the earth to be buried at the
discretion of Executors, nothing doubting but if shall raised again by
the Mighty Power of God at the General Resurrection and as (?) my worldly
estate wherewith it hath (?) God to bless me in this life. 

I dispose of in the following manner and form.  I give and bequeath to my
Dearly Beloved Wife Martha KERR one third of all my personal estate. 
(Next line or two unreadable.  Mentions something about his office, his
plantation and dwelling).

And to my sons George KERR, William KERR, John KERR, Samuel KERR, James
KERR, Thomas KERR and Andrew KERR  the sum of Twenty pounds current money
of Pennsylvania, Ten pounds of each Twenty to be put out at interest till
each of them arrive at the full age of Twenty One Years, at which time
they are to (?) each of them the said Twenty pound principal together
with the interest to them and their heirs forever and the other Ten
pounds appertaining to each of my seven  sons to remain in one common
stock and without being converted to money (?) for to be improved to the
best advantage upon the Plantation until each arrive at the full age
aforementioned and my further will and pleasure is that my Plantation on
which I now live shall be equally divided in quantity and quality at the
discretion of the Guardians after mentioned between my son George KERR
and my son William KERR to them and their heirs forever except as much as
is predisposed  for the maintenance of my Dearly Beloved Wife together
with the maintenance of my Ancient and Honourable Mother which I allow to
her of my whole estate during life and that in a comfortable manner.

I likewise order and will that  my two sons George KERR and William KERR
shall pay unto the residue of there Bretheren the sum of Fifty pounds
current money as aforesaid.  Ten pounds to each brother to be paid when
each brother shall arrive at the full age of Twenty Three Years according
to their birthright & I do hereby constitute appoint and ordain my Dearly
Beloved Wife Executrix and my Dear Son George KERR Executor of this my
Last Will and Testament together with my Trusty Friends John FLETCHER and
Samuel MILLER of the same County aforesaid as Guardians thereunto and I
hereby do revoke all and every other will and testament by me afore made
at any time confirming this only to be my last will.
