All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/york/ ________________________________________________ Will of Anthony Knisely, 1799 YORK COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA WILL BOOK K In the name of God Amen, I ANTHONY KNISELY of Warrington Township in York County and State of Pennsylvania, being old and weak in body do of sound and dispossessing mind memory and understanding and confidencing the many accidents and casualities that atte___ and remembering that it is appointed for all men once to die, do therefore (touching all such worldly estate which kind Providence has been pleased to bless me with bestow upon me, make and ordain my Last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say in the first place it is my Will and so I order that all my just debts and funeral expenses shall be paid out of my personal estate by my Executors as soon as may be convenient after my decease. And whereas my following named Children to wit, ANN THE WIFE OF JACOB SHULL AND JOHN KNISELY, ANTHONY KNISELY, AND EVA THE WIFE OF ANDREW LOBACH, AND ABRAHAM KNISELY, MICHAEL KNISELY, JACOB KNISELY AND MARY THE WIFE OF JACOB HANTZ, AND SAMUEL KNISELY AND GEORGE KNISELY all these before named Sons and Daughters being largely considered by me in my life time each of them with their full share and daughters respectively out of my estate both Real and personal. Item, I also order that my Executors shall sell such part of my moveables as my WIFE CATHERINA can spare best in Order to pay my debts and the remainder of my Moveables which must not be sold for to discarge my debts, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Catherina to be her property and also the use and benefit of this my Plantation whereon I now live, I give and allow unto my said wife as her Dowery and for to raise my Youngest Son SOLOMON KNISELY until he arrives to the age of Twenty-one years and he shall find all ncecessities for my said Son with such time and give him sufficinet Scooling as he ought to have and I impower my Executores to take care of my said Plantation and Rent it out at their discretion unto careful men every year until my said Son Solomon arrives to his age and not let it be ___ reached and if necessity requires towards paying my debts as aforesaid then they shall take of the Rent such part as will discharge the same and all the rest of the Rent or income shall be distributed unto my said wife as aforesaid during the said time and she shall live on the place (if she remains my Widow) and when my said Son SOLOMON arrives to the age of Twenty one Years then I give and devise unto him this my said Plantation whereon I now live situate in Warrington Township York County as aforesaid containing one hundred and ten acres more or less to be his sole Estate and this my Last Will and Testament shall be his sufficient Right and Title to him his heirs and assigns for ever. (but in case if my said son SOLOMON should die and not live until he can enjoy the same accoring to law then my said wife shall enjoy the Benefit and rent of the said Place in the same manner as before as long as she remains my widow but if she should marry again in such case that is if my said Son SOLOMON should come to die as aforesaid then she shall have no possession in the place and no Dowry at all from the place And then I impower my Executors to make sale of the said Plantation to the best advantage and make and sign over unto the purchaser thereof such Rights for the same as I have as fully and amply to all intents and purposes as I myself might or could do were personally present and then in with care I allow and grant unto the other CHILDREN OF MY SAID WIFE WHICH SHE HAD BEFORE the sum of thirty pounds lawful money out of the purchase money of my said Plantation share and share alike divided amongst and that residue of the said Purchase money I give and devise unto all my first named children equally divided unto them share and share alike, but if my said Son SOLOMON shall live to enjoy that same as aforesaidthen he shall keep my said wife, his mother, and support her in all things necessary sufficiently during his lifetime if she remains my widow and in case if my said wife should die at any time before my said Son SOLOMON arrives to his age then all the Rest of said Place shall before my said Son SOLOMON for his Estate under the care of my Executors And lastly I do hereby Constitute Nominate and appoint my Trusty Friends I. John Stauffer and Herman Bluefoer Executors of this my last Will and Testament in Trust for thetrue interest and meanings thereof hereby Revoking all Wills by me heretofore made. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Nineteenth day of March one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine. his ANTHONY & KNISELY SEAL Signed, Sealed, Published and declared by the said mark ANTHONY KNISELY to be his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us. Before me Jacob Barnitz Registrar for the probate of wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the county of York in the State of Pennsylvania ______ ally came John Deardorff and Frederick Snyder, two of the subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing Instrument of writing and in heirs Solemn affirmations according to law. Do severally say that they were personally present and saw and heard the above named ANTHONY KNISELY make his marks unto and seal and publish the foregoing Instrument of writing as and for his Last Will and Testament and that at the time of that doing thereof. He the said ANTHONY KNISELY was of a sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief, and that they subscribed their names thereto as witnesses in the presence of the said Testator and at his request and further that they also saw Sarah Blafrau sign her name thereto as a Witness at the same time.
