ANDREW KOHLER In the name of God Amen. I Andrew Kohler of Manchester Township in the County of York in the state of Pennsylvania, yeoman, being very weak in the body but of a sound mind, memory & understanding for which favor I thank God. Having considered the uncertainty of life, and certainty of death, thought proper to settle my worldly affairs &; to make my Last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say, hereby revoking all Wills & Testaments by me at any time heretofore made. I do declare this and no other to be my last Will and Testament principally & of all other things I do recommend my Soul in the hands of God, & my body to the Earth, and my mind and Will that all my just debts & funeral expense be duly paid and satisfied. And I do give, devise and bequeath unto my dear & beloved wife Maria Magdalen all that plantation of mine to keep and hold unto her possession for her maintenance as long as she shall be & remain my widow and in case if she should marry again that she shall draw and receive of this my plantation, ten bushels of wheat and ten bushels of rye yearly and for and during all the terms of her natural life. And I do furthermore bequeath to her my said wife her bed and one chest, and one corner closet, one cow and a little wash tub and besides her lawful share of all my moveable estate & to keep and to hold the ten plated stove into her possession as long as she shall be and remain my widow And I do bequeath to Joseph my first born son fife (sic) pounds lawful money of our State first and foremost besides his equal share with the other nine children, and after the decease or marriage of my said dear wife the plantation shall be sold by Public Sale and equally divided & shared among all ten. And I do appoint my said wife Maria Magdalen and my son Andrew whole and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I the said Andrew Kohler have hereunto set my handmark and seal the twenty-sixth day of December in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred & eighty-six. Signed, sealed, published & declared by the above named Andrew Kohler as and for his Last Will & Testament in the presence of us, who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereof in his presence & at his request s/Stophel Greene(mark)wald [Christopher Greenewald] s/Georg Metzger.Probate:January 11, 1787 Christopher Greenwald and George Metzger confirmed the will in Court. A Letter Testamontary in Common form was given to Andrew Kohler but no township of residence given.
