We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________________ WILL OF PHILIP HENRY MOHR of Dover Township, York County Pennsylvania Volume E p. 28-31 (1779): IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Philip Henry Mohr of Dover Township in the County of York and Province of Pennsylvania Yeoman being Advanced in Years and Infirm but of Sound Disposing Mind and Understanding Do this Twenty Eighth Day of October in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Six Make and Publish this my last Will and Testament In Manner and Form following, that is to say Principally and first of all I commend my Soul to God who gave it me and my Body to the Earth to be Decently Buried and as touching all my Worldly Estate I give and Devise and Dispose of the Same as follows First I order that all my just Debt and Funeral Charges be first Paid and Satisfied Item It is my Will and Desire that my beloved Wife Catherina shall have the Possession Produce & Incomes of my Dwelling Plantation & Real Estate whatsoever During her Natural Life but not to Sell or Dispose of any Part thereof and further it is my Will That my Executors herein Named Shall after my Decease make Publish Sale of my Personal Estate So much as to Discharge my Just Debts and Funeral Charges and Charges of Administration. Item I give & Bequeath unto my beloved Wife Catharina all my Personal Estate, Goods & Effects whatsoever after Payment of Debts Charges of Administr. & Funeral Expences. To hold to her the said Catharina her Heirs & Assigns for Ever. Item after the Decease of my said Wife Catharina I order and Direct that my Dwelling Plantation and all my Real Estate Whatsoever as aforesaid Shall be sold by Publick or Private Sale to the best Advantage by my executors hereinafter Named and the Money Arising from the sale thereof to be Equally Divided between my Three Children, Namely George Conrad, Mary Elizabeth and Sophia Share and Share alike. Item I give and Devise Unto my Grandsons Philip, Valentine & Daniel, born of the Body of my Daughter Sophia unto each of them the sum of Ten Pounds Lawfull Money to be paid to Each of them when they arrive to the age of Twenty One Years And it is my Will the said Legacys herein Devised to my said Grand Children be deducted out of my said Estate (after being sold as aforesaid) before the Equall Dividends be made for my above named Children. And Lastly I do hereby Nominate and Appoint my said Wife Catharina to be Executrix and my Trusty Friend Peter Rheel to be Executor of this my last Will & Testament by me heretofore Made In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my Hand and Seal the Day & Year first above Written. Philip Henrich Mohr {Seal} Signed Sealed Pronounced Published & Declared by the said Philip Henry Mohr as and for his Last Will & Testament in the Presence of us Casper M"uller George Schlosser York County SS: Before me Archibald McClean Esquire Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the County of York in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania personally came George Schlosser, One of the Subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing Instrument of Writing and on his solemn affirmation (he consciously scrupling the taking of an Oath) saith he was Personally Present and saw and heard the before Named Philip Henry Mohr Sign his Name unto and Seal & Publish the foregoign Instrument composed of Two Pages on an half Sheet as and for his last Will & Testament, And that at the time of the doing thereof he the said Philip Henry Mohr was of Sound & disposing Mind & Memory to the beset of his Knowledge and Belief & that he did Subscribe his Name thereto in the Presence of the said Testator and at his Request, & that he did also see Casper Miller the other Witness subscribe his Name at the same Time George Schlosser {Seal} Assigned & Subscribed before me at York the 30th Day of August 1779-- Archd. McClean Register Whereas I Philip Henery Mohr did Consider this my Last Will within Mandgened* that the said Thirty Pound Lawfull Money Bequided* to my Grand Childeren insid* named Philip Valentein and Daniel all them Thre shal have noting of my estate for Ever but all oder* articl* shal be good in this my witin Last Will Witnes my hand and Seal the first day of May 1778 Philip Henrich Mohr {Seal} Witnes Presence Melher "X" Benedik Philip "X" Benedik York County SS: Before me William Bradford Jun. Deputy Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the county of York in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Personally came Casper Miller One of the Subscribing Witnesses to the first foregoing Instrument of writing Purporting to be the last Will & Testament of Philip Henry Mohr deceased, and Melcher Benedick and Philip Benedick the Witnesses to the Second Foregoing Instrument of Writing said to be an addition or Codicil to the said Will, and being duly Sworn According to Law, the said Casper Miller saith that he was Personally Present & saw and heard the before named Philip Henry Mohr sign his Name unto and Seal and PUblish the first of the foregoing Instrument of Writing as & for his Last Will and Testament, and that at the time of the doing therof he the said Testator was of Sound and disposing Mind Memory & Understanding to the best of his Knowledge and Belief. And that he did subscribe his Name as Witness thereto, in the Presence of the said Testator & at his Request and further that he did see George Schlosser the other Subscribing Witness Subscribe his Name, and that it was done at the same Time in the Presence of the sd. Testator & at his request. And the said Melcher Benedict & Philip Benedict on their solemn Oaths Respectively do say that they were Personally Present & saw & heard the aforenamed Philip Henry Mohr Sign his Name unto & Seal & Publish the second of the foregoing instruments of writing as & for Part of his last Will & Testament, & that at the Time of the doing thereof he was of sound and disposing Mind Memory & Understanding to the best of their Knowledge & Belief and that they did respectively make their Marks Thereto as Witnesses, in the Presence of the said Testator & at his Request. MEMORANDUM That Letters Testamentary in Common Form were granted unto Catharine Mohr and Peter Rheel of the Estate of Philip Henry Mohr; Inventory to be Exhibited into the Register's Office at York in One Month and an account or Reckoning thereof at or before the Fourth Day of August Next.
