Will: John Noels, Of Paradise Township, York, Pennsylvania Copyright (c) 2000-2001 by FamilyHart, FamilyHart@aol.com ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Transcribed from photocopy of original located in Recorder of Wills Office, York County Courthouse, York, PA ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ John Noels Last Will & Testament Proved the 10th Day of June 1766, & Inventory Filed the same day. ============================================================== In the Name of God, Amen, The Twenty Seventh Day of October Anno Domina Seventeen hundred & Sixty Five, I John Noel of the Township of Paradise, County of York, & Province of Pennsylvania, Shoemaker, being Very Sick and Weak in Body, but of Perfect mind & memory, thanks to Almighty God, Therefore Calling unto mind the Mortality of my Body, & knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to Die, do make and ordain this my Last will & Testament, that is to Say, Principally & First of all, I give & recommend my soul into the Hands of Almighty God that gave it, & my body I recommend to The Earth to be buried in a Decent & Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Executors, Nothing Doubting but at the General Resurrection, I shall Receive the same again by the Mighty Power of God. And as Touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath Pleased Almighty God to bless me with in this Life, I Give, Demise, & Dispose of the same in the Following Mannor & Form, first that all my Lawfull & just Debts be paid by my Executors hereafter Mentioned. Item, First, I give and bequeath unto Margarett my Dearly beloved Wife the Sum of one hundred Pounds of Lawfull Currant money of Pennsylvania, to be Paid & Levied out of my Estate, & the Provable & Just Possession of my Plantation Situate in the Township, County, & Province aforesaid During her Life, Whether she continues a Widow, or Intends to Marry, & after her decease or death, the Said Land or Plantation I am now Possessed with Shall be Equally Devided amongst my Children, to Wit: Andrew, John, Peter, Jacob, Nicholas, Casper, & Phillip Noel, At this Present Living & in Good health thanks be to Almighty God for the same, & likewise all my household Goods, Debts, and Movable Effects, to be Equally Divided amongst my Children above said, Except the sum of one hundred pounds of which I will and Bequeath unto Margarett my Dearly Beloved Wife, to be Gifted and Bequeathed by her as it shall Please herself. Item, I do Constitute & ordain my Dearly Beloved Wife Margarett and Nicholas Bittonger of Berwick Town, Township of Berwick, & County, & Province aforesaid, my whole & Sole Executrix of this my Last will and Testament, & I do hereby utterly Disallow, Revoke, & disannull all & Every other Former Testaments, Wills, Legacies, Bequests, & Executors by me in any Ways =========================================================== Before named, Willed, and Bequeathed, ratifying & Confirming this, and no other, to be my Last Will & Testament. In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto Sett my hand & Seal, the Day & Year above written. Steel John Fecker Peter Delon York County, SS: Before me, Samuel Johnston, Esquire, Deputy Register for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the County of York, Personally appeared George Clark and Peter Delo, two of the Subscribing Wittnesses to the foregoing Instrument of Writing and on their oaths respectively Taken according to Law, Do say that they were Personally present and saw and heard John Noel, therein named, Sign, Seal, Publish and Declare the above Instrument of Writing as and for his Last Will and Testament and at the Doing thereof, he was of Sound and Disposing Mind and Memory to the best of their Knowledge and that the Deponants subscribed their names as Witnesses to the same in the Presence of the Testator and at his request and that they did likewise see George Steel and John Fecker, the other Subscribing Witnesses to the same also sign their names as Witnesses thereto, in the Presence of the Testator and at his request.
