I will that all my Debts in funeral expenses be paid and discharged by my executors, here after named. ITEM I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Elizabeth the Plantation I now have lived on with the appurtenances thereunto belonging to her on proper use and behoof. During her Natural Life and likewise all my personal Estate to her use during said term. My Will is that at her decease my daughter Phebe PHILIPS Shall have twenty-five pounds or sooner if her mother shall thereto see fit and the residue in remainder after paying the above twenty-five pounds of my personal estate at my wife's deceased My Will Is that at her decease that It be equally divided between my four daughters Mary UNDERWOOD, Jane McCEW, Petience DAVIS and Elizabeth CANON. ITEM I give and bequeath unto my son John PHILLIPS the plantation I now can live on after the deceased of his mother with the appurtenances thereunto belonging to him and his heirs and assigns forever. ITEM I give and bequeath onto my son Nathan PHILLIPS the sum of five shillings that with what I have already given him being to the extent of my ability Whom I do make and constitutes sole Executor of this my last will and testament dated this 11th day 7th month in the year of our Lord 1775 Sealed published and declared by the above named Edmond PHILLIPS for his last will and testament SIGNED Ed Mendenhall PHILLIPS witnesses David BELL John BRUNRON Sam LEWIS York County Ss. Before me Samuel Johnston Esq. Deputy Register for the probate of wills and granting Letters of Administration in and were the county of York in the province of Pennsylvania personally appeared David BELL and John BRUNTON two of the subscribing witnesses to the within Instrument of Writing and on their Affirmations Respectively Taken According to Law they ………..the taking of the oath to say that they were personally present and Saw and heard Edmond PHILLIPS in the within instrument of writing named Seal Publish and Declare the Written Instrument of Writing As and for His Last Will and Testament and at the Same of the Doing Thereof the Said Edmund PHILLIPS Was of Sound and Disposing Mind and Memory to the Best of these affirmants Knowledge and Believe and That these Affirmants Subscribed Their Names to Perform As Witnesses in the Presence of the Said Testator at His Request and Say That Samuel LEWIS Was Also Present at the Same Time and Subscribed The Same.
