The life which has been graceously bestowed by a beneficient Creator, I resign to his merciful case my body will be received in the bosom of its mother earth, and it is my will [ ] that it shall be decently entered at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter mentioned It is my will that all my just debts and funeral expences shall be paid as soon as conveniently they can be, after my decease I give devise and bequeath unto my youngest son George Ruhleman junier, his heirs and assigns forever the dwelling plantation and tract of land on which I now reside containing thirty-one acres also two other small tracts the one containing nineteen acres adjoining lands of Vallentine Wentz, John Ettinger and Jacob page 506 Brumgart and the other piece lying on Dughill containing nineteen acres adjoining lands of Christian Hetrick Frances Baughman and John Broadbeck containing together sixty-nine acres & allowance be the same more or less as by a survey thereof may appear under and subject to the payment restriction reservations & conditions hereinafter mentioned to wit first he shall retain in his hand the sum of five hundred and sixty six dollars and sixty seven cents in consideration of said Land as part his Legacy and for the service he has rendered me after he arived to his lawful age, thence to pay the sum of one thousand two hundred and thirty three dollars and thirty three cents Lawful money of the United States in twelve equal annual payments of one hundred and two dollars and seventy seven & three fourth cents each. The first payment to be made on the first day of May in one year after my decease which said annual payments shall be paid unto my Executors hereinafter named and the Executors shall then pay over the same as the said payments become due. Item I will and ordain at the earlest and convenient time my Executors hereinafter named shall sell the Land situate in township number twenty of range number nineteen & State of Ohio containing together three hundred and twenty acres be the same more or less at public or private sale to the best advantage to the Heirs authorizing and impowering my Executors hereinafter named to give a good and sufficient deed of conveyance to the purchasor or purchasers and to be as valled in Law as if I had personally executed the same. Item I will and bequeath to my dear wife Margaret the one third part of all my Estate whatsoever to her in hand paid by my Executors of the money due and becoming due after my decease for her maintainance and support in addition to what I shall give unto her hereinafter. Secondly I give and bequeath to my dear wife her bed and bedstead her page 507 chest [and her oven] and case my said wife shall have during her natural life and after her decease I desire that my son George shall have the clock and case and the stove & pipe now in the House without any charge against them. Thirdly I further ordain and direct that my son George Ruhleman jr. shall find my wife in sufficient vituels and drink and to let her eat at his own table and to keep her in sickness & in health during her natural life. Item it is further my will I order and direct that all the remainder of my personally estate not herein otherwise bequeathed or excepted shall be sold at public sale by my Executors hereinafter named and the money arising from the sale thereof shall be divided amongs my five children namely Catharina intermarried with Henry Shauck Elizabeth intermarried with Nicholas Walker Ludwick Ruhlman Margaret intermarried with John Wentz and George Ruhleman jun and their heirs and assigns share and share alike but first of all they shall be made even in their shares and upon my son George Ruhleman jr making the several payments aforesaid shall have and hold the land as bequeathed to him his heirs and assigns freed and discharged from all the claims of my other children And lastly I hereby nominate and appoint my son George Ruhleman Junr. and my friend John W. Hetrick to be Executors of this my last Will & testament hereby revoking all annulling all former Wills & testaments by me made ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty-fourth day of February A.D. 1826. (signed) George Ruhlman [seal] Signed sealed published and declared by George Ruhleman senior the within named testator as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as Witnesses thereto, Anton Schmidt George Brumgart York County ss. On the 21st day of August A.D. 1827 Before me Jacob B. Wentz Register for the Probate of Wills and granting page 508 Letters of Administration, in and for said County in the State of Pennsylvania, personally came Anthony Schmidt and George Brumgart, the two subscribing Witnesses to the within and foregoing instrument of writing who on their Solemn affirmation to them administered did depose and say that they were personally present and saw George Ruhlman the testator therein named sign his name unto and seal the same, and heard him publish and declare said instrument of writing as and for his last Will and Testament and they the said Anthony & George did further depose and say that he the said George Ruhlman at the time of the doing and performing said several acts was of a sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge, observation and belief. per J.B. Wentz, Regr. York County ss. On the 21st day of August A.D. 1827 Before me Jacob B. Wentz Register for said county came George Ruhlman, the younger, and John W. Hetrick the Executors named in the last Will and Testament of George Ruhlman, late of Manheim Township deceased who having been by me (severally) sworn to well and truly administer the goods and chattles rights and credits which were of the said deceased, that they will make a true Inventory thereof and exhibit the same into the Register’s Office for said County in one month and an account calculation and reckoning in one year, and that they will diligently and faithfully regard and well and truly comply with the provisions of an act relating to collateral inheritances.
