Pleasant Township, York County, Pa. --Will made 27 March 1787--Probated 17 March 1788 Widow; Mary Issue: Joseph Jr. (gets homestead)--Executor, Catharine (married Citteman) Grandson: Joseph McCann--son of son-in-law-Robert McCann In the name of God Amen, I Joseph Teeterick of Mountpleasant Township York County State of Pennsylvania being weak of body but of sound memory and Judgement Do make this my last will and Testament hereby disallowing all former wills, legacies and bequeath either by word or writting, first and principally I leave and bequeath my soul to God who gave it and my body to be interred in a Christian manner as my Executor shall think fit And as to what Worldy Estate it hath pleased God to bless me with I dispose of in the following manner. Viz: I leave and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Mary Teeterick the half of the Four-Room above and below with the Dressor and Citchen Furniture, one feather bed and sufficent cloths and one Chef Bed with Cloths likeways. Two cows with Hay sufficent to keep them in the winter and pasture in the summer and liberty to rase one calf every year to be capt and fed till Three years old, also Fifteen Bushel of Wheat, Three bushel of Rie Four Bushel of Corn to be manchatable also one hundred pounds of Beef and one Hundred and Twenty weight of Pork the half of the garden the third of the orchard in Apples and cider maid. The third of what flax is raised on the place. one Bushel of salt Nine yards of Linsey Stripped Two pair of shoes Two pair of stockings yearly and every year and my grandson Joseph McCain is to eat along with my said wife, All these privileges she is to enjoy while she remains my widow and if my said wife Marrys then she is to have one cow and one Bed and her cloths and no more. Item; I give and bequeath to my son Joseph Teeterick the plantation I now live on with all the buildings and improvements and Textils to hold the same forever, him and his heirs with these words, that he is not to sell it while his Mother lives or remains my widow also one waggon plow and harrow with all other farming utinsils one Black Mare one Bay horse one wind mill all my wearing apparell One large Bible and other Books one clock and said son is to pay my just debts and legetees. I leave and bequeath to my Daughter Catharine Citteman the Sum of one Hundred and Thirth Pounds including what is paid and the Sum that is paid to Michael Citteman is sixty two pounds the remainder Sixty eight pounds to be paid in the following manner. Viz Thirteen pounds fifteen shillings for four years yearly and every year and the remainder Thirteen pounds in the fifth year. Item; I leave and bequeath my grandson Joseph McCain the sum of seventy pounds to be paid in Three equal payments the first to be paid when he comes to the Year of Twenty One then yearly till it be paid but if said Joseph McCain Dies before all the payments is maid then the Money that remains unpaid after his funeral charges to be equaly divided between my son Joseph and Daughter Catheren said Joseph McCain is to get two years schooling as soon as convienant and one year the Seventeenth year of his age and to have books found him proper to learn with and paper for his use to learn to write and said Joseph McCain is to be put to a ----that he chooses when he gets the Last year of schooling and he is to get one coat and Jacot and britches and two pair shoes and two pair of stockings yearly and every Second year a Suit of Cloths for out going and one hat yearly and my Son Joseph is to pay for the books and paper and for his Schooling. Item; I leave and bequeath to Robert McCain my Son in law the Sum of Five Shillings and no more and if said Robert McCain ofers to take his son he is to pay Twelve pounds in hard money for every year keeping before he takes him away and said money is to be put to interest for the use of said child till he comes of age and if said child dies before he comes of age the money is to be equaly divided between my son Joseph and my daughter Catern. I likeways Constitute and apoint my son Joseph Teeterick Sole Executor to this my last will and testament. And in witness that I am satisfied with the above legeets and bequeathments. I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Twenty seventh Day of March in the year of Our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty seven. Witness present at Siging and Sealing Jesse Ewing, Moses Lockhart Joseph Teeterick (Seal) York County--Before me one of the Justice of the Peace in and for said County came John McIlvain and Jacob Trine and on their Solomn Oaths say that they have Faithfully according to the best of their Judgements Appraised the several goods and Chattels mentioned in the foregoing Inventory and have caused the same to be annexed to each article respectively.
