Will: George Welty, of Manchester Township, York County, Pennsylvania Copyright (c) 2000-2001 by FamilyHart, FamilyHart@aol.com ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ WILL; YORK CO PG27 VOL XVI O 130 Note: the information in () is not readable In the name of God Amen, I George Welty of Manchester Township in the County of York in the State of Pennsylvania do make this my last will and testament as follows, that is to say I give my lands mesuage and tenements (and here I state make) whatsoever situation lying and being in the township of Manchester York County aforesaid other then and except all that lot or piece of land lying and being in Manchester Township York County aforesaid which I purchased of Ludwig Bahn with their appurtenances unto my dear be loving wife Susana Welty for and during so long a time as she the said Susanna Welty shall remain single and unmarried together with the water right to the well of water on my farther lands which I have bought of my Father Jacob Welty on the seventh day of March in this year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixteen as by his Indenture may appear and from and after her decease or in case she the said Susanna Welty shall at anytime after my decease marry again it is my will to have the said lot or piece of land with the appurtenances appraised and sold and the money arising there from to be divided equally among my be loving children, Jacob Welty, Philip Welty, Henry Welty and George Welty and their heirs; and all the piece or lot of ground which I have bought of Ludwig Bahn as aforesaid it is my will that the same shall be sold as soon as it can conveniently be done after my decease at public venue and that the same shall be offered at public sale on the day which the movable goods shall be offered for sale and in case the same shall not fetch a price on that day to an advantage then the same shall be offered at public sale again at anytime afterwards as my executors shall see fit and the money arising from said piece of land which I have bought of Ludwig Bahn after the same shall be sold and all the movable goods and household furniture after the same are sold, it is my desire that all my debts, funeral expenses also, shall first be paid and satisfied out of the same and after paying all my debts as aforesaid I give and bequeath to my dear wife the equal one third part or share of all of the remainder of the money which remain after paying all expenses as aforesaid to be met upon Interest for him and that she shall draw the interest their from yearly and every year as long as she shall remain a widow and no longer and after her decease in case she the said Susanna Welty should marry again at anytime hereafter then and in such case the same shall be distributed among my dear children Jacob Welty, Philip Welty, Henry Welty, and George Welty equally share and share alike and the other two thirds after paying all expenses as aforesaid I give and bequeath to my dear children Jacob Welty, Philip Welty, Henry Welty, and George Welty in equal shares in share and share alike and I give and bequeath to my dear wife out of my personal property for her own use on tin plate stove, one heater, one spinning wheel and a (checkrail) and one chest and after my decease it is my will that all my personal property shall be appraised at anytime after my decease and that my dear wife shall take at the appraisement so much any article or articles which she shall want and I give the custody tuition and guardianship of the persons of such of my children as shall be under the age of twenty one years at the time of my death to my two brothers Henry Welty and Philip Welty during their respective minorities and I nominate and appoint my two brothers Henry Welty and Philip Welty executors of this my will and will is I do hereby direct that all my rents of the mesuage land tenements and (herelitaments) which are herein before given to my sons Jacob Welty, Philip Welty, Henry Welty, and George Welty respectively shall be paid to their guardian during their respective minorities apiece for their maintenances and support.
