My Body I Recommend to the Earth to be Decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executrix Hereafter Named. And Touching Such Worldly Estate Wherewith I have Been Favoured within this Life I Give Devise and Dispose of the Same in the Following Manner Firstly I Give and Bequeath to Robe Aldrich my Eldest Daughter the one Sixth Part of my Real Estate. Together with one Square Table Frying Pan & Largest Iron Pot To her her Heirs and Assigns Forever She to Take Possession at the age of Eighteen Years. I give to my Other Daughter Artimesa Aldrich one Third part of my Real Estate To her her Heirs and Assigns Forever. I Give and Bequeath to David my Son the other and Remainding Part (Being) one half) of my Real Estate to him his heirs and Assigns Forever. I Likewise give and Bequeath to my said Son David all My Wearing Apparel Together with all my Tools and Utentials for Farming or Husbandry Business. I Give and Bequeath to Rebecca my Wife all the Swine and Provision or Eateables of all Thirds Whatsoever and my Will is and I do hereby Order That out of and with the Rest and Remainder of my Personal Estate my Just Debts be Paid and Discharged and the Overplus I Give to my Said Wife and my Said Daughter Artimesa to be Equally Divided Between them. And Further my Will is that my Said Son have and Come Into the Possession of his Part of my Estate at Twenty one Years of age and my said Daughters to Have and Come Into the Possession of teir Respective Shares as they Respectively Arrive to the Age of Eighteen Years And Until Such Time or Times my Estate Both Real and Personal to be and Remain in the hands of my Executrix Hereafter Names and She to have the use and Profits Thereof for the Bringing up and Educating my Two Children the Said Artemisa and David the Other Being Provided For Elsewhere And my Will is that if any or Either of my Said Children Die Before Attaining the age herein Specified for Receiving its Portion according to this Will and without LawfullIssue That Then my Surviving Children to have the Part of my Estate herein Willed to him or her or them That So Dieth to Divided Between my Surviving Children Equally And my Will and Intent is that my Wife have and Enjoy her Lawfull Right of Dower and Power Thirds in and unto my Real Estate as in Intestate Estates. And I Do hereby Constitute and Appoint the Said Rebecca my Wife Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament. And Do hereby Utterly Revoke and Disallow all and every Other and Forever Will or Wills Legacies Requests and Executors by me heretofor Willed Named and Bequeathed Ratifying this and no Other to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness and in Confirmation Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal the Day & year first above Written David Aldrich Signed Sealed Published Pronounced and Declared by the Said David Aldrich to be his Last Will and Testament In Presence of us Who in his Presence and in Presence of Each other have hereunto Subscribed our Names Uriah Arnold Caleb Arnold George Comstock At a Town Council held in Smithfield in the County of Providence & on the 5thDay of Dec. AD 1780--- The Last Will and Testament of David Aldrich of Smithfield afore Decs was Laid on the Bord Before This Council by Rebecca Aldrich who was Named Executrix as she was Appointed and Defined that said Will might be Proved by this Council and Uriah Arnold Caleb Arnold & George Comstock, The Witness unto said Will on Solemn Engagement Declared that they saw David Aldrich the Testator Sign & Seal Did hear him Publish Pronounce & Declare the same to be his Last Will & Testament & the said Witnesses in his Presence & in the Presence of Each Other Subscribed their Names as Witnesses at the Same Time he was of a Sound Mind & Disposing Memory. Therefore Resolved by this Council that the said Will be Proved approved of as a Lawfull Will & Testament. This Ordered to be Recorded & is Recorded Dan. At a Town Council held in Smithfield in the County of Providence on the 5thDay of Decm. AD 1780 The within Inventory was Laid before this Council by Rebecca Aldrich as Executrix on the Personal Estate of David Aldrich Decsd. Who on Solemn Engagement Declared that she had set forth all the Personal Estate of the said decd That did belong unto him at the Time of his Death. That had come unto her hand or knowledge and if any thing more hereafter should come unto her hand or possession she would add the same unto said Inventory and Caleb Arnold and Arnold Pain the Prizers of the Goods Comprised in said Inventory on Solemn Engagement Declared that they had made a True Appraisal of the Goods Comprised in Said Inventory According to the Best of their judgement Therefore it is Voted Said Inventory be accepted of as a Lawfull Inventory and is ordered to be recorded and according is recorded Dan.
