He served in the RI Line. The widow applied for pension 20 Nov. 1838 in Providence Co., RI at age of 70 years. She claims she married Thomas APPLEBY on 14 Nov. 1784 and that he died 26 Jul. 1828. Their son Thomas S. aged 30 signed an affidavit in 1838. Thomas APPLEBY was the son of James APPLEBY, Jr. and his widow, Wait, was the daughter of John Smith 3rd. All were living in Smithfield, RI.
