HEARST has applied to grant him Letters of Administration on the estate of Samuel BAGGS, deceased; this is therefore to cite all kindred and creditors of said dec'd to appear in the Court of Ordinary for Abbeville district on the third Monday in November to show cause why said Administration should not be granted. JOHNSON has applied for Letters of Administration on the estate of Frances LONG, deceased; this is therefore to cite all kindred and creditors of said dec'd to appear in the Court of Ordinary for Abbeville district on the 20th of November next, to show cause why said Administration should not be granted. Lesly, Ord'y -------- STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, Abbeville District Court of Common Pleas Robert BOYD, who has been arrested and is now confined within the bounds of the Jail of Abbeville District, by virtue of a writ of Capias ad Respondendum at the suit of William Smith, having filed his petition and schedule on oath of his whole estate and effects, with the purpose of obtaining the benefit of the Acts of the General Assembly, commonly called the Insolvent Debtors Act. Public notice is hereby given that the petition of Robert BOYD will be heard and considered in the Court of Common Pleas for Abbeville District, at the Abbeville courthouse on the third Monday in March next. All of the creditors of the said Robert BOYD are hereby summoned in the said Court, to show cause, if any they can, why the benefit of the Acts aforesaid should not be granted to the said Robert BOYD. John F. Livingston, Clerk. Nov. 3, 1846 --------- FOR SALE, A SAVANNAH PLANTATION The subscriber offers for sale his Plantation on the Savannah River containing 947 acres. It is situated a mile below Vienna and has first and second low grounds of considerable extent and a large portion of great fertility. It is adapted to all products and by Boats has a ready communication with Hamburg. 400 acres are woodland, 100 of which would be very fine for cultivation. It is one of the best plantations in the State for 20 hands. It has all necessary plantation buildings. John CUNNINGHAM, Abbeville district, Oct. 28, 1946 ---------- NEWSPAPER Issue of NOVEMBER 11, 1846 OBITUARY Departed this life on the 3rd of October at his residence in Abbeville District, Josiah PATTERSON, aged 71 years. The deceased was for about fifty years a worthy member of the Presbyterian church and for more than 40 years a ruling Elder in the same. In the discharge of the relations of husband, father and friend, he was equalled by few and excelled by none. In his last illness, which was long and painful, he experienced largely the consolations of that religion which he had so long professed. ------- STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, Abbeville District Court of Common Pleas John F. FOR PARTITION By order of the Court of Common Pleas to me directed, I will sell at Abbeville Courthouse on Sale Day in December next, the following Real Estate, lately the property of John G. CALDWELL, deceased, consisting of the following tracts of land: No. 1 - - - The JONES tract, containing 400 acres, situated on Rocky River, bounded NE by lands of Michael KENNEDY, west by Joseph BAKER and R. DAVIS, south by the HINTON tract, and east by Rocky River. The tract is well watered with a dwelling house situated in a healthy part of the District. No. 2 - - -The HINTON tract, also on Rocky River near the Village of Lowndsville, consisting of 400 acres, as valuable as any on Rocky River, having on it a dwelling house, cotton gin; also well watered and in a healthy situation; bounded south by lands of Wm. Ramey, Sheriff, Nov. 9, 1846 ---------- STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, Abbeville District Court of Common Pleas Sarah KENNEDY vs. Margaret KENNEDY, Elizabeth KENNEDY, et al FOR PARTITION By order of the Court of Common Pleas to me directed, I will sell at Abbeville Courthouse on Sale Day in December next, all the Real Estate of the late John KENNEDY, deceased, comprising three separate tracts: Tract No. 1 - - - Containing two hundred and sixty-one acres known as the Mill Tract, situated on Long Cane creek, 12 miles south of Abbeville courthouse on which there is a good flour, grist and saw Mill, all new. The above named tract is desirable for a cotton farm; about two hundred acres of it are yet to clear. Tract No. 2 - - - Containing three hundred and fifty acres, commonly known as the Home Tract, lying on Long Cane Creek and Bold Branch, about 12 miles south of the village of Abbeville. Tract No. 3 - - - Containing sixty acres, lying on Rocky Branch, about 11 miles southeast of the village. J. NEWSPAPER Issue of DECEMBER 16, 1846 SALE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY There will be sold on Tuesday the 22nd inst., at the late resdience of Henry R. WILSON, dec'd, all his personal property consisting of four negroes, horses, cattle, hogs and sheep, one yoke of oxen, one wagon, corn and fodder, household and kitchen furniture, and various other articles. The Plantation containing about 60 acres of choice cotton land in cultivation will be rented on the same day. John R. WILSON, Administrator, Dec. 9, 1846 --------- SALE OF REAL ESTATE Will be sold on the first Monday in January next, before the courthouse door to the highest bidder, the Real Estate of the late John BURTON, deceased, comprising one tract of land bounded by Grizzy MILFORD, Capt. Geo. NICHOLS, James ARNOLD and others, containing four hundred and seventy-two acres, in a high state of cultivation. There is a commodious brick house on it with all other necessary out buildings. Dec. 9, 1846 ---------- VALUABLE PROPERTY FOR SALE On the 28th inst., will be sold at the late residence of John ALLEN, deceased, to the highest bidder the following property, viz: Eighteen Negroes, some of them valuable house servants, Household and Kitchen Furniture, Horses, Cows, Plantation Tools, one road wagon, one Barouche, and many other articles too numerous to mention.
