Contributed to The USGenWeb Archives by: Alan 04 April 2001 ---------------------------------------- Bogeyville (private & abandoned) cemetary, North Aiken, South Carolina Recorded on April 4, 2001 AIKEN COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA - Bogeyville Cemetary, North Aiken (private & abandoned) (Aiken County, Ridge Spring, South Carolina) Travel Highway 1 past I-20 (overpass 90) for approx. 3.3 miles, turn left onto Bogeyville road. Stay on this road for approx. 2.9 miles. Go approx. 250 yards, (past cement bridge) turn left into the woods, for approx 100 yards (beware of the barbed wire fence). A teenager found this site. There are 6 gravesites here. one stone is gone, one is broken (on the ground = W. C. Gregory). The others are slowly disappearing into the earth. (Thanks to the young man that helped me with this record) The *layout* below is similar to their positions. Note: This once looked to be a very picturesque spot. Footstone (I) (One stone*) William Gregory Mary Egans Infant Infant born born son of Wm & Mary son of Wm & Mary Oct 12, 1825 March 28, 1829 Gregory Gregory died died 1867 1860 April 1899 June 13, 1875 Father Mother W. C. Gregory born May 4, 1858 died March 31, 1885 *Back of headstone: "Affections tribute here I raise 'tis all that I can do.
