Bush brought to Aiken and lodged in jail subject to the order of Marion Sanders, Sheriff of Sumter county, a negro by the name of Scipio Dickerson, who is said to have murdered a man in 1884 in Sumter, and after his arrest broke --- and made his escape. A state reward of $100 is said to have been offered by the Governor and an additional reward of $25 by Sheriff Sanders. Mr. T.S. Bush who is policeman at Ellenton, arrested him with the assistance of Mr. W.J. Bush, on the farm of Mr. S.F. Dicks, about 8 miles from Ellenton. He had been living there for about three months. He made an effort to escape by flight, but upon being over taken by the two Bushes made a stubborn resistance, inflicting sundry ugly marks and bruises on the faces of his captors. But he was over come, manacled and brought to Aiken and is now safely in jail. Sheriff Holley telegraphed the sheriff of Sumter.
