Craig. The shooting took place last night between 8 and 9 o'clock at the home of S.E. Holley, a brother-in-law of Craig. The only eye-witness to the tragedy is Mrs. S.E. Holley, who claims that Bryant came to their house and followed her to the woodpile in the backyard. He kept playing and teasing her and she being in a hurry to fix supper told him to let her alone. He slapped her and her brother, Tommie, hearing her crying came to the door and told Bryant not to do that anymore. Bryant cursed and threatened Craig, advancing on him with a knife. Craig told his sister to get out of the way when he stepped into the hallway, picked up a gun and fired two shots at Bryant, who was near the steps which killed him instantly. 10-2-1921, page 1A Thomas H Craig Is Acquitted In Aiken Aiken, SC, Oct 1-Following a three-day trial in the court of general sessions, Thomas H Craig, charged with the killing of Redmond Bryant, was aquitted this afternoon after not more than an hour's deliberation by the jury.
