The Columbia Register says that Col. R.H. Watts, of Laurens, who is registered at 
Wright's, states that papers were filed in the office of the clerk of court of 
Laurens county in the case of Martha Eliza Burdett against Wm Pool, a prominent 
grocery merchant of Laurensville, in which the plaintiff charges seduction under 
promise of marriage, and claims damages to the amount of $10,000. The plaintiff 
was recently become a mother. She represented by Messrs. Ball & Watts. The case 
has excited deep interest, and Col. Watts says it will be a lively trial.
