On Saturday night last upon the arrival of the 11 o'clock trin from Augusta, a considerable disturbance occured upon the platform at the depot between several disorderly negroes, whereupon Conductor Malone and Mr. J.H. Hard, the agent of the South Carolina Railroad, invoked the assistance of Trial Justice O.C. Jordan, who happened to be on the train. Mr. Jordan promptly endeavored to arrest the negro man, who was the principle disturber of the peace, when he was set upon and stabbed in two places; one on the shoulder and the other in the arm, by a negro woman named Betty Warren. The man escaped but the woman was arrested and is now in jail. We are glad to learn that the wounds of Mr. Jordan, though painful, are not serious.
