M.T. Holley, Esq. Sheriff of Aiken County, Aiken, S.C. Sir.-- Please find herewith 
inclosed ----- sentences in the case of the State against Wade Hampton McElvin --- 
of murder. Term of Court was left blank. The person who drew up the petition 
failed to state that important fact so that I authorize you to do it. Allow me, 
also, to congratulate you upon being among the few officers who regard the 
acknowledgement of document and necessary evil. Many fail to appreciate the
