Mr. W.M. Fitch, a shipping clerk in the freight department of the South Carolina 
Railroad at Charleston, committed suicide by shotting himself in the heart, while 
in his room, about noon Saturday, the 16th inst. He was 27 years old and 
unmarried. No cause is known for the act, but it is supposed he was temporarily 
insane. He was of stead habits, and his integrity and honesty were unquestioned.
