Ballard at digroots@lowcountry.com in Feb-2001 CEMETERY LOCATION: ------------------ Located 1.09 miles NW from the Texaco on HWY 81 and Concord Road. Go the direction of Hopewell Road and turn right on Shackleford. Turn into Hidden Falls, look to left for a large barn within some woods, park car and walk right towards the woods. Barn being on opposite side of the graveyard. Enter the woods with caution, as a low-lying bob wire will greet you. As you begin into the site you will start to notice the head and footing stones. Larger stones are located in the back. I have visited the cemetery several times and I am sad to say the last visit showed more damage by vandals. W. Campbell Latitude N x Longitude W CHURCH/CEMETERY HISTORY: ------------------------ This cemetery marks the original site of Hopewell Baptist Church, which was constituted in 1803. The cemetery contains graves of Revolutionary & Confederate veterans. Many graves are marked with fieldstones that had been hand chiseled.
