It was directly across the intersection of Cool Meadows Drive and Highway 86 and in the backyard of a house. The Cemetery started at the back corner of the house. The Cemetery is about 80 feet X 40 feet with about 80 graves all in a grove of oak trees. Most are marked with field stones. The cemetery had just been cleaned off and had four readable tombstones. 1. Eppa HOGAN s/o M.T. & S.I. Hogan 23 FEB 1868(or 65) - 23 JAN 1869 2. Infant Son of W.T. & Caroline MOORE 2 MAY 1884 3. Carrie d/o W.T. & Caroline MOORE 22 JAN 1885 - 15 JUN 1886 4. Minester s/o W.T. & Caroline MOORE 1 JUN 1887 - 3 JUL 1889 5. Marble foot stone with "M. M." lying on the ground (Note: William T. MOORE married Caroline SHERMAN in about 1880) Most of the children died of small pox. A story is told by older residents of a man named William "Bud" Wilson being hung at Anderson Court House before 1922 for killing his wife, Laura, in Anderson County where they lived off Timms Road. He was buried in this cemetery and a wooden shed was built over the grave so his ghost could not escape. The shed burned some years later. All evidence of the grave is gone.
