One year later on March 29, 1884, a cyclone destroyed the new church building. A new church building was built that same year. On November 30, 1879, Six and Twenty was received as a member of the Piedmont Baptist Association. Delegates were Rev. J. S. Simmons, James Welborn, and J.N. Hembree. The present church building was completed in February 1959 and the Sunday School room addition was completed in April 1974. The fellowship building was completed and dedicated in June 1964. The present pastorium was completed in December 1966 with Pastor Virgil Merck and church members doing the work. The recreation area, with tennis courts, picnic shelter, and restrooms was completed in 1969. Under the ministry of Rev. Willie A. Honea, the church has experienced growth in both salvations and membership.
