The following history information was taken from the Inventory of Church Archives of Churches 1935. By: E.E. Vaughn Wilson's Creek No. 1 Baptist 5 mi. E. of Iva, SC Organized 1875 1st log structure about 3 miles South of present site 1875 - 1881; 2nd wooden frame in same place 1881 - 1892; 3rd wooden frame at present site. Built 1939, dedicated 3rd of January 1939. Wooden frame, rectangular shaped 32 X 50 feet, plain doors and windows, no belfry or bell, capacity 300. Value of building $2000, value of lot $250, total value of church property $2250.00. First settled clergy Phillip Morris, tenure 1875 - 1876. Present membership 147, charter members 23. This church was named after the creek nearby. The organization worshipped as Wilsons Creek until the church was destroyed by fire in 1892, then part of the members built them a church in Abbeville County and these members built one in Anderson County. One in Anderson County is named Wilson's Creek No. 1. The one on Abbeville County is named Wilson's Creek No. 2.
