Visit http://members.aol.com/pastense2/scroom.htm In the Carolina Room, I have stored many documents that pertain to the State of South Carolina, however, I do have some records that I have acquired from other States, as well. Here you will find a little bit of my Family History, South Carolina Misc. Records extracted, from (wills, deeds, marriage records, deaths records, probate records) Penitentiary Records, Coroner Inquisitions, Church Cemetery transcriptions where to get copies of these books, pictures, census information, surname connections, Mortality records, Slave records and Mortgage Records. Many of the items in my possession, were copied from the original document and later compiled and placed in one of my many databases, for future reference. Keep in mind, that a lot of hard work has been placed in the years of research that I have done. Most of what you will find here I freely share, with the understanding that it is copyrighted material, published either by me or someone else, that I have acknowledged. TOMBSTONE TRANSCRIPTION NOTES: ------------------------------ a. = age at death b. = date-of-birth d. = date-of-death h. = husband m. = married p. = parents w. = wife I went by the old cemetery on Monday, 12 Jul 2004 with Scott Humphrey. Scott owns the pond and land adjacent to the cemetery. It was in a grove of hardwood trees in the middle of several farm fields off Blossom Branch Road and Elrod Road. A road use to led to the church off Blossom Branch Road, but it no longer exists. The cemetery and old church foundation is on about an acre and a half of land. The church foundation looks to be about 34 feet wide and 40 feet deep with only the cement steps and foundation pillars standing. The church was abandon in the 1960s and the tin roof blew off. The wood deteriorated fast and fell in. The brass bell was stolen. (The brass Bell and Belfry was added to the church after WPA documented the history of the church in 1940) The cemetery took up most of the church land. There looks to be over 100 graves on the land with about 15 readable tombstones. A lot of graves are recognizable and marked with field stones. Other graves are not marked, but are identified by sunken outlines. The last person to be buried there was in the 1960s in an unmarked grave. The cemetery is in rather good shape and enclosed in a barb wire fence.
