McGill applied for Letters of Administration. 15 March 1841 - Administration Bond Filed. "To John Martin, Ordinary of Anderson District - The petition of the undersigned respectfully sheweth that William Magill late of Anderson District deceased is believed to have died intestate, and that the estate cannot be legally settled without a grant of administration to someone competent to take charge and dispose of the said estate. Your petitioners therefore pray the court to grant them Letters of Administration on the said estate. This the 1st March 1841. S/ Henry L. McGill and Mary (her X mark) McGill. Petition granted and Letters issued (?) the 15th March 1841. S/ John Martin, Ordinary." 22 March 1841 - Warrant of Appraisement filed, and issued. "These are to authorize and empower you, or any three or four of you whose names are hereunder written, to repaid to all such parts and places within the State, as you shall be directed unto by Mary McGill and Henry L. McGill Administrators of all and singular the Goods, Rights and Credits of William McGill late of Anderson District deceased...and to cause the same to be returned under your hands, or any three or four of you, to the said Mary and Henry L. on or before the 12th day of April now next ensuing. Dated the 22nd day of March Anno Domini, 1841...To: Jacob Moshat, Abner Clinkscales, Jesse Campbell, Andrew Reed, Robertson Smith, Esq....This twelfth day of April 1841 personally appeared before me R. Smith, one of the Justice assigned to keep the peace in Anderson District, Andrew Reid, Jesse Campbell and Abner Clinkscales being the appraisers appointed to appraise the Goods and Chattels of Wm.
