      The last will and testament of me Nancy Harper, (widow of the late Wm. 
Harper Sen, deceased) of the district of Anderson State of South Carolina, beng 
of sound mind & memory, & considering the uncertainty of this frail and 
transitory life, do therefore make & ordain, publish & declare, this to be my 
last will and testament, that is to say, first after all my lawful debts & 
funeral expesnse are paid the residue of my estate, real & person, I give 
bequeath & dispose of as follows viz.  My old coloured Servant woman Juda I give 
and bequeath to Joseph Cox, Esq  & also the sum of twenty dollars in money to 
the same in consideration of the advanced age of said Juda  & the possibility of 
her becoming a burden & expense to him, & it is my will that she should remain 
with him and his family  during the term of her natural life.  
All the residue of my property, household furniture & money of whatever amount 
there may be coming to me I give & bequeath to Jonathan B. Lewis & Elizabeth 
Wilson wife of Hugh Wilson of Big Creek to be divided equally between them by my 
executor herein after named.  
I do hereby make constitute & appoint Jonathat B. Lewis  my executor of this my 
last will & testament,  In witness whereof I have hereunto Subscribed my name & 
affixed my Seal this twelfth day of December in the year of our Lord one 
thousand eight hundred & fifty. Six

Signed Sealed published & declared by the said Nancy Harper who as, & for, her 
last will & testament in the presence of us who at the rquest of the said Nancy 
Harper & in her presence & in  the presence of each and other have hereunto
