The Columbian Herald, or, The Independent Courier of NOrth-America, Charleston, South Carolina, Thursday, May 1, 1788, page 3, columns 3-4:

"On Sunday evening was married, at Mepkin, in St. John's Parish, Berkley county, the hon. Charles Pinckney, Esq. to Miss Mary Laurens, one of the daughters of the hon. Henry Laurens, Esq"
