In the Name of God Amen I Martha Amory of Charles Town in South Carolina Widdo. being weak in Body but of Sound and Perfect Memory praise be given to Almighty God for ye Same Do make & Ordain this my Last Will and Testamt. in Manner and form following, first I bequeath my Soul & Spirit into ye hands of ye Ever Blessed God my merciful Creator yt made me & Inspired me with ye Breath of Life and of my Blessed Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ who redeemed me with, his Precious Blood beseeching him to receive ye Same unto ye hands of his Mercy hopeing & assuredly believing ye Salvation of my Soul through ye alone Merits of Jesus Christ my Blessed Saviour And my Body I Comitt to ye Earth to be decently buried at ye Discretion of my hereafter mentioned Executrix being in full & Certain Hope of a Resurrection to a Glorious Immortality in ye Great Day of our Saviours Second Comeing to Judge ye World And for my Estate which it hath Pleased God to bestow upon me in this World I do give and Dispose of ye Same as followeth (Vizt) Impis I will yt my Just Debts & funerall Expences shall be first paid and Discharged. Items I Do Give and Bequeath unto my Dear friend Mrs. Sarah Rhett my gold Watch, & my Horse and Horse Netts & my White quilted petticoat. Item I do give and Bequeath unto yt Minister of ye Church of England who shall Succeed ye late Reverend Mr. Samuel Marshall deceased as Rector or Minister of ye Church of Charles Towne in South Carolina ye Sum of Tenn Pounds Carolina money. Item I Do Give & Bequeath unto ye Poor of Charles Town in Carolina ye Sum of Tenn Pounds Carolina Moneys. Item I Do Give & Bequeath unto William Rhett Junr. ye Son of Capt. Willm. Rhett ye Sum of five Pounds Carolina Moneys to buy a Ring Item I Do Give & Bequeath to Sarah Rhett Junr daughter ye sd. Capt. Willm. Rhett ye Sum of Twenty Pounds Carolina Money Item I Do Give and Bequeath unto my Son in Law Thomas Amory my Largest Silver Tankard. Item I Do give and Bequeath unto my daughter Sarah my gold girdle Buckle & a Gold Lockett and Six Silver Spoonek Item I do Give & Bequeath to my Daughter Ann my Gold Shoe Buckles & a gold Button of my Night raile & Six Silver Spoones. Item As To remaining part of my third part of my deceased Husbands Estate Left me by his Last Will and Testamt. & all other my Estate whatsoever my Will is yt ye Same be divided into three equal Parts, One third of which I do Give devise & Bequeath unto my Son in Law Thomas Amory & my son Robt Amory to be equally divided between them But if my Son in Law Thomas Amory dye without Isue of his Body lawfully Begotten Then my Will is that his part shall be equally divided between my Son Robert & my daughter Sarah & Ann or the Survivors of them and ye other two thirds I do Give to my daughters Sarah & Ann Amory to be equally divided between them and my Will is that if my sd Son Robert or eitlier of my Said Daughters Sarah & Ann shall Depart this Life before ye Age of Twneyt one years or day of Marriage That then That part of him or her That is deceased shall be equally divided between ye two Survivors. Itm I Do Dominate & appoint my dearly beloved friend Sarah Rhett ye Wife of Capt. William Rhett of Charles Town in Carolina Executrix and my Beloved Son Robert Amory Executor of this my Last Will & Testamt & my Will is yt ye Education of my Children Robert Sarah and An shall be at ye Sole Ordering and Disposall. of. my sd Executrix Sarah Rhett and yt dureing ye Minority of my Son Robert Amory ye Sole Execution of this my Last will and Testamt be solely in ye Said Sarah Rhett as fully and as amply as if She was Sole Executrix of ye Same In Witness where of I ye first above named Martha Amory have to this my last Will and Testamt.
