					          JOHN SMITH

The Last Will & Testament of John Smith
IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I John Smith of Charlestown in the Province of South
Carolina being Sick & Weak in Body but of Sound & Perfect mind & memory
thanks be to God for the Same calling unto mind ye* mortality of my Body, &
knowing that it is appointed for all men once to Dye do make & Ordain this
my Last Will & Testament in manner & form following. Principally & first of
all I give & recommend my Soul into the Hands of God that gave it, & my Body
I recommend to the Earth to be Buried in decent Christian Burial, nothing
doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the Same again by
the mighty Power of God & by the merits of our Saviour Jesus Christ I hope
to receive Pardon of all my Sins and as touching my Worldly Estate, I do
give Devise & Dispose thereof as follows, Vizt*.
Impris  I will & Desire that all my Debts & funeral Charges In this Province
of South Carolina be first Paid & Satisfied by my Exers hereinafter named
Item  I give & Bequeath as a Legacy to my Wife Margaret Smith one Shill:
Sterling money.
Item  I give & Bequeath as a Legacy to Martha Haynes Ten Pounds Carolina
money to buy her a God Ring.
Item  I give & Bequeath as a Legacy to Anne Milner Ten Pounds Carolina money
to buy her a God Ring.
Item  I give & Bequeath as a Legacy to Jane Erving Ten Pounds Carolina money
to buy her a God Ring.
Item  I give & Bequeath as a Legacy to my Loving Son Thomas Smith one Silver
Watch to be buy him Pofsess'd & Enjoy'd forever
Item   All the rest & residue of my goods & Chattles Estate real & Personal
that Shall any ways appear to b due owing or belonging to me at the time of
my Decease, I do give & Bequeath the Same unto the rest of Children to be
Equally Divided between them to be Pofsefs'd & Enjoy'd by them & their
afsigns forever.
Lastly.  I do hereby nominate Constitute & appoint Nicholas Haynes &
Jeremiah Milner of Charlestown Victuallers Executors of this my Last Will &
Testament, Hereby Revoking disannulling & making void all other Wills &
Testaments by me heretofore made;

Will & Testamt*: In Witnefs whereof I have thereunto Set my Hand & Seal at
Charlestown aforesaid this Twelfth day of august anon Domini one thousand
Seven Hundred Thirty & Three & in the Seventh Year of his Majestys Reign.
