Contributed to The USGenWeb Archives by: Carson Turner (CoachTurner@SoftHome.Net) Nov. 7, 1999 ---------------------------------------- Austell Family Cemetery: SC150 @ Central-Limestone School: 1838-1873 Submitted by Carson Turner (CoachTurner@Softhome.net) and Betty Holt (CoachBetty@Softhome.net) Transcribed November 7, 1999 This cemetery is located in a small clearing on the east side of SC 150 immediately North of the new Central-Limestone Elementary School. It was well cared for and appears to be within the right-of-way of SC150 but may be on private property. Our notes and comments are [bracketed]. We began at the SouthEast corner and worked North then to the SouthWest Corner and north again. There were two marker bases on the edge of the woods with no stone attached - we're not certain whether these are graves or simply bases used in a previous application and replaced. (SW) 4 5 6 7 (SE) 1 2 3 1) William Austell died December 26, 1871 aged 72 years 7 months 2) Samuel S. Austell died August 25, 1861 aged 23 years 1 month 25 days [there is a recently placed Confederate States flag. The foot marker reads W.A. leading us to believe that the bases mentioned above may belong to a grave in another row east of this one...] 3) Catherine wife of Wm.
