Contributed to The USGenWeb Archives by: Carson Turner (CoachTurner@SoftHome.Net) Nov. 7, 1999 ---------------------------------------- Lipscomb Cemetery I85 @ mile 95: 1780-1888 Submitted by Carson Turner (CoachTurner@Softhome.net) and Betty Holt (CoachBetty@Softhome.net) Transcribed November 7, 1999 This cemetery is located on I-85 in the median strip between exit 95 and 96. It was fairly overgrown when we visited and in need of care. Several markers have fallen and others are severely worn. There were some ground depressions that indicate graves where no marker was found. We suggest greatest care when visiting this ground. It is located in the center of the interstate highway, stones are lose, there are many ground depressions, and the area is likely inhabited by snakes. Visits with children would be ill advised. our notes and comments are [bracketed] We began at the northwest corner and worked east then from the southeast corner and worked west. 1 2 8 7 6 5 4 3 1) In Memory of L.H.
