Most of the headstone is worn away. The only inscription that can be read well is PARKER. Her husband, Isaiah PARKER is buried in this cemetery. After Isaiah's death Elizabeth lived in the lands near the PARKER family (information from the 1810 US census for South Carolina). Additional Comments: The Parker family burial site is on private property in either Cherokee or York County, South Carolina near Abimgdon Creek not too far from Gaffney, Cherokee County, South Carolina. Elizabeth GUYTON was born about 1774 in South Carolina (probably Union District). She married Isaiah Parker (1770 - 1806) before 1793 in South Carolina. Elizabeth died between 1807 and 1817 in South Carolina. They are the parents of seven children: Note from Sandra Smith Gwilliam: I guessed Elizabeth's death date as about 1816 because she was dead before the probate of her father's will recorded 3 Aug 1818 and she was still alive in the 1810 census. I guessed her birth date because she was between 26 & 44 in the 1800 census and she had 5 children under 10 years old in that census and she had children until Sarah Parker Childress was born about 1806. [Sarah was 43 in the Rusk, Texas 1850 census. Her father died when she was an infant].
