Wife's name unknown. He evidently was born in Ireland and came to America c1762. He served in he Revolutionary War. Until 1 Jul 1776 he was with the 1st Rifle Regiment (Pa) under Col. Ed. Hand, Capt James Roppp. He re-enlised in the 9th Regiment, Penna Line, Col. Noggle, Captain Ervin for two years. He applied for pension 11 Jul 1818 in the Chester District of South Carolina. A new application was made 4 Nov 1820. (Pension application S- 39461) His widow died 27 Mar 1833. The application mentions two daughters born 1784 and 1798. The younger was reported as mentally unsound. They had a son John and he was in Carroll Co., Tenn., 1 Oct 1854 inquiring about his mother's certificate.
